To Know Everything in a Flash

찰나에 모든 것을 앎

How do I know everything? The nature of the infinitely complicated phenomenon—the Universe—is infinitely simple. But to know and understand this is infinitely difficult. When you know what Universal Mind, Universal Energy and Universal Body are and what their relation is to individual mind, individual energy and individual body you will understand how the Perfect Master knows everything.

나(바바)는 어떻게 하여 모든 것을 알 수 있을까? 한없이 복잡한 이 현상세계(우주)의 본성은 무한히 단순하다. 그러나 이 사실을 이해한다는 것은 무한히 어렵다. 그대가 우주적 마음, 우주적 에너지, 우주적 신체가 무언지 알게 되고, 그것들이 개별적 마음, 개별적 에너지, 개별적 신체들과 어떤 관계를 지녔는지 알게 되면, 완벽한 스승이 어떻게 모든 것을 아는지 이해하게 될 것이다.

This all-comprehensive Knowledge is obtained in a flash. But to know everything in a flash takes an eternity in the illusion of time while you gradually die to your self. This dying to your self means completely losing yourself to God to find your Self as God.

이 전체적이고 포괄적인 지식은 찰나에 얻어지는 것이다. 그러나 찰나에 모든 것을 아는 전지(全知)를 얻는 데는, 그대의 자아(self)가 점차적으로 죽어가는 동안 환상의 시간 속에서 영겁의 시간이 걸린다. 자아의 죽음이란, 신 자체인 그대의 참나를 찾기 위해 신 안에서 자신을 완전히 잃어버리는 것을 뜻한다.

This dying to your false self is no easy task; raising a corpse to life is child’s play compared to it.

그대의 거짓된 자아의 죽음은 결코 쉬운 일이 아니다; 이에 비하면 죽은 시체를 살려내는 일은 아이들의 장난과 같다.

Universal Body

우주적 신체

God’s Imagination begets Universal Mind, Universal Energy and Universal Body in which are contained the individual minds, individual energies and individual bodies of every thing and being in Creation.

신의 상상은 우주적 마음(Universal Mind), 우주적 에너지(Universal Energy – 氣), 우주적 신체(Universal Body)를 낳는다; 천지창조 안의 모든 존재와 사물들이 지닌 개별적 마음, 개별적 에너지, 개별적 신체들은 그 ‘신의 상상’ 안에 들어 있다.

Universal Mind, Universal Energy and Universal body are because of the existence of God’s Imagination which exists as Non-existence within the Infinite Eternal and All-pervading EXISTENCE (God).

우주적 마음, 우주적 에너지, 우주적 신체가 있는 것은 신의 상상이 존재하기 때문이다; 이 신의 상상은, 무한하고 영원하며 편재한 참존재(신) 안에서 비존재로 존재한다.

Individual minds, individual energies and individual bodies have no existence in themselves, but exist only as effects in existing Non-existence.

개별적 마음들과 개별적 에너지들, 개별적 신체들은 각각의 독자적인 존재성을 갖추지 못하며, 존재하고 있는 비존재 안에서 일종의 효과(effects)로서만 존재한다.

In my universal Body are contained all the gross bodies of all the innumerable beings and things in Creation. Individual subtle bodies (energies) and mental bodies (minds) are part of my Universal Energy and Universal Mind. In both Universal Energy and Universal Mind there are no divisions.

나의 우주적 신체 안에는 천지창조에 포함된 무수한 존재들(beings)과 사물들(things)의 모든 물질적 신체들이 들어있다. 개별적인 기적 신체(에너지)들과 정신적 신체(마음)들은 나의 우주적 에너지와 우주적 마음의 일부이다. 이 우주적 에너지와 우주적 마음에는 나뉨이 없다.

Distance between a drop here and a drop there in the ocean makes no difference to each drop’s relation to the ocean. Any drop within the ocean is within the entirety and homogeneity of the ocean.

같은 바다 안의 이곳에 있는 물방울과 저곳에 있는 물방울 사이의 거리는, 각각의 물방울과 바다와의 관계와는 전혀 상관이 없다. 바다 안의 어떤 물방울이라도, 그 바다의 전체성과 동질성 안에 존재한다.

There are no divisions in Paramatma; only the One Indivisible Ocean of Reality exists as Eternal Existence.

파라마트마(Paramatma) 안에는 어떤 분리도 없다; 오직 실재의 불가분한 바다만이 영원한 존재로서 실존한다.

Infinite Knowledge

무한한 지식

There cannot be anything hidden from the One who is everywhere present, for He is everywhere. And it naturally follows that when there cannot be anything hidden from this One He must also be All-Knowing, knowing everything.

모든 곳에 현존하는 그이(One)에게는 어떤 것도 숨길 수 없다; 그는 모든 곳에 있기 때문이다. 그이에게 아무것도 숨길 수 없다면, 당연히 그는 전지(全知)하며 모든 것을 알 수밖에 없다.

The infinite-Knowing is ‘seeing’ everything at one and the same time, and seeing it NOW. It is that Knowledge which does not begin and does not end; which is indivisible and continuous, and to which nothing can be added and from which nothing can be subtracted.

무한한 앎(infinite-Knowing)은 모든 것을 한순간에 보고 있으며, 지금 이 순간(NOW)도 보고 있다. 이것은 시작도 끝도 없고, 나뉘어질 수 없으며, 늘 지속되고, 그 무엇도 더하거나 뺄 수 없는 완전한 지식이다.

It is that Knowledge which makes God at this moment know that which He knew when it occurred countless aeons ago, and makes Him know that which will occur countless aeons hence; that Knowledge which makes everything known to God simultaneously and NOW. It is the Knowledge of the Perfect Masters and the Avatar.

이것은 무수한 억겁 전에 그이(He)가 알았던 것들과 무수한 억겁 후에 일어날 일들을, 지금 이 순간 신(God)이 알 수 있게 해주는 지식이다; 즉 이 지식은 바로 이 순간(NOW), 과거와 미래의 모든 것을 동시에 신이 알도록 한다. 이것이 바로 완벽한 스승들과 아바타의 지식이다.

In terms simpler to you it means that which you as individuals know at this moment I knew aeons ago, and what you individuals in ages to come will be knowing at a particular moment, I know now.

그대가 이해하기 쉽게 이야기하면 지금 이 순간 그대들이 개인으로서 아는 모든 것을 나는 무수한 억겁 전에 알았으며, 수많은 시대가 지난 후에 그대들이 개인으로서 알게 될 모든 것들을 나는 ‘바로 지금’ 알고 있다는 말이다.

 

I Am the Song

나는 노래다

My unique experience of the Beyond State is so unique that I simultaneously experience being everything and beyond everything. I am the song, its words and its melody, and I am the singer. I am the musical instruments and the players and the listeners. And on your level I explain to you the meaning of what I, the singer, sing.

초월 상태(Beyond State)에서의 나의 유일무이한 체험은 너무나 독특하여, 나는 모든 존재임을 체험하는 동시에 모든 것을 초월한 존재임도 체험한다. 나는 노래며, 그 노래의 가사와 멜로디, 또한 그 노래를 부르는 가수이다. 노래를 연주하는 악기도 나며, 연주자도 나며, 음악을 듣는 청중도 나다. 또한 나는 그대들 각자의 수준에서, 가수인 내가 부르는 노래의 의미를 설명해준다.

 

I Am Infinite Consciousness

나는 무한한 의식이다 

Believe that I am the Ancient One. Do not doubt that for a moment. There is no possibility of my being anyone else. I am not this body that you see. It is only a coat I put on when I visit you. I am Infinite Consciousness. I sit with you, play and laugh with you; but simultaneously I am working on all planes of existence.

내가 ‘고대의 그이'(Ancient One)라는 사실을 믿으라. 단 한 순간도 이것을 의심하지 마라. 내가 ‘고대의 그이’가 아닌, 다른 사람일 가능성은 전혀 없다. 나는 그대들 눈에 보이는 이 몸이 아니다. 이 몸은 내가 그대들을 방문할 때 입는 외투일 뿐이다. 나는 무한한 의식(Infinite Consciousness)이다. 나는 그대들과 함께 앉아, 함께 웃으며 논다. 그러나 그런 동시에 존재의 모든 경지들 각각에서 나의 작업(우주적 작업)을 하고 있다.

Before me are saints and perfect saints and masters of the earlier stages of the spiritual path. They are all different forms of me. I am the Root of every one and every thing. An infinite number of branches spread out from me. I work through, and suffer in and for, each one of you.

내 앞에는 영적 경로의 초기 단계들에 있는 성자들, 완벽한 성자들, 그리고 마스터(완벽한 스승)들이 있다. 그들 모두는 다른 형태의 나다. 나는 일체 모든 것과 모든 이의 뿌리이다. 나로부터 무한한 수의 가지들이 뻗쳐나간다. 나는 각각의 그대들을 통해 나의 작업을 하며, 그대들 하나하나를 위해 각자의 안에서 고통을 겪는다.

My bliss and my infinite sense of humour sustain me in my suffering. The amusing incidents that arise at the expense of none lighten my burden.

나의 지복과 무한한 유머 감각이 그 고통을 견뎌내도록 나를 지탱해준다. 누구에게도 해가 없는 재밌고 즐거운 사건들은 나의 짐을 덜어준다.

Think of me; remain cheerful in all your trials and I am with you helping you.

나를 생각하라; 그대의 모든 어려움 속에서도 늘 명랑하라; 나는 그대와 함께 있으며, 그대를 돕고 있다.
